White lines in the PDF in the 100% view in the webshop

PDF order via the webshop

Unfortunately, there are occasional white lines in the PDF file in the 100% view in the webshop, or these lines are caused by fonts or images with shadows.

If you upload the final PDF file in the webshop and display the 100% view in the webshop, then these lines will be recognizable. These will also arise during development.

Cause:

The strokes are created by reducing the transparency of the PDF from InDesign to Adobe Acrobat or by optimizing it in Adobe Acrobat and is a bug.

Solution:

If the PDF optimization results in white lines in the PDF and these are also visible in the 100% view in the webshop, the solution is to export the pages as JPG files from InDesign.

You can export the page from InDesign to JPG. First, check in the Professional Zone which resolution your data will later need for production (300 or 301 dpi), then export the pages according to the following InDesign settings.

In a direct comparison between PDF and JPG files in Photoshop, it is noticeable that the exported JPG is minimally blurred than if one would raster the PDF file, here a slight re-sharpening with the following values is recommended:
